Weekly Trash Pick-up – Every Tuesday unless notified by the Town of a change. Pick-up begins at 7:00 A.M.
The maximum pick up per household per week is eight (8) bags of 33-gallon size. If you have ashes, please place them in a double bag or in a bag placed in a cardboard box.
If you use trash cans, please do not place loose items on the top. When the lids are removed, the loose paper on top blows away. The trash contractor will not pick up fifty-five (55) gallon steel barrels. If you use plastic barrels, they have to have the top cut out with a smooth edge and four (4) hand holes around the top large enough for a gloved hand to fit into.
If you have yard waste, such as leaves, tree limbs, grass clippings, these items will not be picked up on the weekly trash route and should be taken to the compost area located at the south end of the Town Park off E. Ramey St.
If you have cardboard boxes on the weekly trash pick-up, please break them down and tie them together and place at the curb with your recyclables on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.
During the month of May, a Spring Clean-up Day is scheduled to allow residents to get rid of unwanted items not usually picked up on the regular trash route. Furniture and appliances will be picked up on this day only at no additional charge. Compressors must be removed from air conditioners, freezers, and refrigerators. Items which will not be picked up, will include yard waste, rocks, dirt or soil, concrete, roofing, shingles, large amounts of wood, plaster, gas containers, lead acid batteries, oil, paint, gasoline, and paint thinners.
The Town of Rossville contracts with Waste Management, Inc. If you have questions regarding trash pick-up, disposal of large items such as furniture or appliances, or in need of a dumpster, please call the Rossville Town Hall to obtain appropriate contact information for Waste Management .
