Clinton County Historical Society

The Clinton County Historical Society was established in 1921, and incorporated in 1976. At first, artifacts were stored in one room of the courthouse attic, and then in the basement. In June of 1980, the Historical Museum was established and given a permanent home in three rooms of “Old Stoney.” The Clinton County Historical Society provides museum tours for a turn of the century experience.

Purpose: The Clinton County Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the heritage of Clinton County through education, written and photographed documentation, and preservation of artifacts and oral histories.
